Keasaman tanah mempengaruhi ketersediaan nutrisi dalam tanah, aktivitas mikroba, dan penyerapan nutrisi oleh tanaman. Keasaman tanah diukur menggunakan skala pH, yang berkisar dari 0 hingga 14.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tiga konsep penting terkait dengan keasaman tanah adalah:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>pH tanah: pH tanah menggambarkan tingkat keasaman atau kebasaan tanah. Skala pH berkisar dari 0 hingga 14, di mana angka 7 menunjukkan keasaman netral. Nilai pH di bawah 7 menunjukkan keasaman yang semakin tinggi, sedangkan nilai pH di atas 7 menunjukkan kebasaan yang semakin tinggi.<\/li>\n<li>Alkalinitas: Alkalinitas tanah menggambarkan kemampuan tanah untuk menahan perubahan pH akibat penambahan asam. CTK yang tinggi pada tanah cenderung menunjukkan keasaman tanah yang rendah, karena adanya keberadaan ion kation tersebut dapat menyeimbangkan ion hidrogen dalam larutan tanah.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Keasaman tanah dapat berdampak pada pertumbuhan tanaman. Keasaman tanah yang ekstrem, baik terlalu asam (rendah pH) maupun terlalu basa (tinggi pH), dapat mempengaruhi ketersediaan nutrisi tanah. Misalnya, pada tanah yang terlalu asam, beberapa nutrisi seperti fosfor, kalsium, dan magnesium mungkin menjadi kurang tersedia bagi tanaman.
